BYD K-Car: Real Vehicle Exposed, Sliding Door Design, to Be Launched Soon

Recently, images of BYD's upcoming K-Car, which is set to be launched in Japan, have been leaked online. This model is expected to be mainly sold in Japan and adopts a "boxy car" design that is highly popular among local consumers. As a pure electric vehicle, it will make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show opening at the end of this month.

BYD's new car features a design with short front and rear overhangs and a long wheelbase. This not only ensures sufficient interior space but also allows for a larger battery pack to be installed. The new model adopts a floating roof design, with triangular windows on the A-pillars, and sliding doors for the rear row. Both the front headlights and taillights will feature a circular ring design, somewhat similar to the third-generation Wuling Hongguang MINIEV currently on sale in China. The shape of the third-row windows is quite unique.

For the interior, the car is equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel, which also comes with a steering wheel heating function. Inside the vehicle, there is an instrument screen paired with a floating central control screen. Triangular windows are provided on the A-pillars, and the entire front-row seats seem to be of an integrated design.

In terms of power, due to the light curb weight of the vehicle, the new car is expected to be equipped with only a 20kWh Blade Battery, which can achieve a cruising range of 180km under WLTC conditions. When calculated according to the traditional CLTC conditions, this cruising range is quite considerable and can meet the needs of daily urban commuting.
