Caterham's first all-electric two-door sports car-Project V, weighs only 1190 kg.

The new prototype will debut at CES 2026 (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas on January 6th. It will also be showcased at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, which opens on January 9th.

Caterham, a British sports car manufacturer, is best known for its open-cockpit Seven series sports cars. In recent years, Caterham has been working towards electrification. The exterior design of the new car is currently uncertain, but based on the one seen at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, it features rounded headlights, a Maserati-like grille in the center, and air intakes on either side. The side profile is a standard supercar shape, with smooth, flowing lines that contribute to a low drag coefficient. The rear features oval taillights and a rounded, full appearance. Instead of a prominent spoiler, it uses a small, upturned ducktail spoiler, along with a large diffuser below, significantly increasing downforce.

In terms of power, Project V will use a pure electric powertrain, with the motor supplied by Yamaha. It is understood that the new car will also be equipped with new battery technology, which is expected to result in better range. Notably, according to previous reports, the new car will continue Caterham's minimalist design philosophy, placing great emphasis on lightweight construction, with a weight of only 1190 kg.
