Recently, Geely Galaxy released a preview stating that the Star 6 will officially launch on October 30. The new model has a pre-sale price range of RMB 85,800 - 118,800 and is positioned as a compact plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sedan, with a CLTC pure electric range of 60km and 125km respectively.
In terms of exterior design, the Geely Galaxy Star 6 inherits the Galaxy series' "Ripple Aesthetics" design language. It features a straight waterfall-style chrome grille, upward-slung headlights on both sides, and a sporty front bumper, creating an overall aggressive visual effect.
For body dimensions, the Geely Galaxy Star 6 measures 4806/1886/1490mm (length/width/height) with a wheelbase of 2756mm. Compared with models like the BYD Qin PLUS, it has an overall dimensional advantage. The rear end adopts a through-type taillight design, with Geely's English logo in the center.
Inside the cabin, the design still follows the Galaxy family style, equipped with a 14.6-inch high-definition central control screen and a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, while retaining a large number of physical buttons. The new car's infotainment system is the Flyme Auto smart cockpit, which includes commonly used applications such as QQ Music, iQiyi, and Amap. It also supports smartphone connectivity functions like HUAWEI HiCar and Carlink. The infotainment system is powered by the self-developed 7nm Longying No.1 automotive-grade chip.
Additionally, the new car offers 50W wireless fast charging, first-class cabin "marshmallow zero-gravity seats", and front seat ventilation/heating functions.
In terms of power, the Geely Galaxy Star 6 will be equipped with the all-new generation Thor AI Hybrid 2.0 technology. Among them, the 1.5L engine has a maximum power of 82kW, and the motor has a maximum power of 120kW. The official claims that this car has a CLTC fuel consumption of 2.8L/100km when the battery is low. Depending on the version, there are two pure electric range options: 60km and 125km.
Key Terminology Note:
- CLTC: Abbreviation for "China Light-duty Vehicle Test Cycle", the official standard for measuring vehicle fuel consumption and electric range in China, analogous to the EU's WLTP or the US's EPA test cycles.
- Flyme Auto: An intelligent cockpit system jointly developed by Geely and Meizu, focusing on seamless connectivity between smartphones and vehicles.
- Thor AI Hybrid 2.0: Geely's self-developed second-generation plug-in hybrid system, emphasizing high efficiency and intelligent power distribution.
