New Audi RS 6 Renderings: Expected to Launch This Year, Likely to Feature 4.0T V8 Plug-in Hybrid System

Recently, we obtained a set of renderings of the all-new Audi RS 6 from relevant sources. This high-performance wagon is scheduled to debut in 2026, with a sedan variant to be launched alongside it. According to the latest information, the new model is highly likely to retain the 4.0T V8 engine and add a plug-in hybrid system.

Following the debut of the new Audi RS 5, its flagship sibling has entered the final stage of testing. Based on the renderings, the exterior design will build on the new Audi A6 Avant family traits while adopting a more aggressive look, featuring sharper lines and wider wheel arches. The car is also equipped with a large rear diffuser and a bigger rear spoiler. The plug-in hybrid version will feature more exaggerated air intakes and centrally mounted oval exhaust pipes.

The weight of the new-generation Audi RS 6 Avant is bound to increase. The smaller RS 5 Avant already weighs 2,370 kg, and the larger RS 6 will certainly exceed that figure.

However, it is still unconfirmed whether the new car will actually use the 4.0T V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain. Earlier reports suggested that the new RS 6 could also be equipped with a 2.9T V6 plug-in hybrid system, consistent with the new RS 5. We will have to wait and see.
