Preview of the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show: Leapmotor Lafa5 to Launch on November 27

Recently, the on-site reporting team of Autohome captured images of Leapmotor's all-new compact pure electric car, the Leapmotor Lafa5, ahead of the opening of the Guangzhou Auto Show. Prior to this, the Leapmotor Lafa5 had already started pre-sales, offering a total of 5 model versions with a pre-sale price range of 105,800 to 131,800 yuan. Based on the LEAP 3.5 Architecture B-Platform, the new car delivers a pure electric cruising range of 515-605km under CLTC conditions.

The vehicle adopts the family-style design language, boasting high brand recognition — both the grille and the through-type LED lights make it instantly recognizable as a Leapmotor model. The front bumper features large-sized air vents on both sides to enhance the overall sporty vibe. In terms of configuration, the bottom of the front end is equipped with an active air shutter, while the roof is fitted with a lidar. For exterior colors, the new car offers 6 paint options for consumers to choose from, namely Electric Yellow, Swift Gray, Starry Night Blue, Morgan Pink, Galaxy Silver, and Metallic Black.

The new car has a length, width, and height of 4430/1880/1520mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2735mm. In terms of details, it is equipped with frameless doors and hidden door handles; additionally, the display vehicle is fitted with blackened wheels to further boost its sporty appeal. The rear end has a layered design: the upper part features an integrated roof spoiler with a built-in high-mount brake light, while the lower part adopts the currently mainstream through-type taillights.

The interior follows a minimalist design concept. It comes standard with matte gunmetal chrome trim in an all-black finish, paired with large-area soft-touch materials, balancing sportiness and comfort. For the base model, two interior color schemes are available: Speed Domain Purple and Speed Shadow Gray. The high-end models, on the other hand, adopt a Racing Gray theme, with the ceiling and seats made of genuine leather + microfiber suede, embossed with racing track patterns and exclusive "Lafa5" lettering.

The new car will be available in two power versions. The high-power version delivers a maximum power output of 160kW, with a top speed of 170km/h; the low-power version offers 132kW of maximum power and a top speed of 160km/h. Regarding batteries, two battery options will be provided based on different configurations: the smaller battery corresponds to a CLTC pure electric cruising range of 515km, while the larger battery enables a CLTC range of 605km.
