The all-new Volkswagen T-ROC Tange will make its official debut at the Munich Motor Show in September and will introduce an HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) version.

We recently learned from relevant channels that the all-new Volkswagen T-ROC (known as the T-ROC Tange in China) will officially debut at the Munich Motor Show in September. The new model is built on the MQB Evo platform and features a brand-new family design language in terms of its exterior styling. Powertrain will continue to be equipped with a pure internal combustion engine system offering both gasoline and diesel options. It is worth mentioning that the new vehicle will also introduce a HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) system in 2026. This hybrid system combines a 1.5T engine with an electric motor and supports an all-electric driving mode.

The hybrid system to be introduced this time operates similarly to the hybrid system found in the Toyota Prius, combining an internal combustion engine with an electric motor and a battery. It will feature a 1.5T turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a P2 electric motor and offer a short-range all-electric driving mode. This hybrid system will deliver power ranging from 204 horsepower to 272 horsepower, with torque coverage from 350 Nm to 400 Nm.

Currently, this brand-new HEV hybrid system differs from any existing hybrid systems under the Volkswagen Group. Volkswagen's current hybrid systems are either PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) systems with external charging capabilities or 48V mild hybrid systems that only provide electric power assistance. In the future, this new hybrid system will also be installed in models such as the Volkswagen Golf, Škoda Octavia, and even the Passat, Tiguan, and Audi A3.
