Recently, Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled the new E-Class, which continues to offer consumers a choice between a large emblem and a hood-mounted emblem, with a total of 10 models launched. The price range remains the same as the previous models, spanning from USD 62,421 to USD 82,869. Notably, the new models have not undergone significant adjustments in exterior and interior design, with the main focus being optimizing curb weight and combined fuel consumption.
From the exterior perspective, the front design of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class remains exquisite and layered. The hood-mounted emblem version features a polygonal grille adorned with horizontal bars, exuding a sense of sophistication and elegance. Meanwhile, the large emblem version employs a dot matrix structure complemented by a chrome strip that seamlessly integrates with the headlights, creating a strong visual unity. The headlights have undergone darkening treatment, adding to their depth and mystery. For the lower bumper area, the hood-mounted emblem version boasts small air deflectors and a flat trapezoidal air intake, contributing to a refined and distinctly layered front-end design. In contrast, the large emblem version showcases a strong sporty vibe through its large air deflectors, wind blades, and similarly equipped trapezoidal air intake.
On the sides of the vehicle, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class continues the elegant lines of its family, with a flat body design that gives it a smooth and imposing aesthetic. The continuous waistline design makes the body appear more elongated, while the pop-out door handles effectively reduce wind resistance and enhance the vehicle's driving efficiency. The raised lines at the wheel arches and side skirts add a hint of muscularity to the vehicle, making the overall design more dynamic.
In terms of dimensions, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class measures 5092mm in length, 1880mm in width, and 1493mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3094mm. Positioned as a mid-to-large sedan, it offers passengers spacious and comfortable seating.
For the interior, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers two layout options. The lower-trim models come with a floating full-LCD instrument cluster, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a floating central touchscreen, and an electronic gear selector, presenting a clean and practical design. The higher-trim models, on the other hand, exude a more luxurious ambiance, featuring an embedded central touchscreen and an entertainment screen for the front passenger, imbuing the cabin with a strong sense of technology and providing passengers with an even more exceptional driving and riding experience.
In terms of power, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is equipped with a 2.0T engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system across the entire lineup. Specifically, the E 260 L model boasts a maximum power of 150kW and a peak torque of 320N·m, offering both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions, both mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission (9AT). The RWD version accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds, while the AWD version does it in 8 seconds. It's worth noting that, despite an increase in the combined fuel consumption from 6.55L/100km to 6.6L/100km under the WLTC test cycle for the AWD version, it still maintains excellent fuel economy. On the other hand, the E 300 L model features a maximum power of 190kW and a peak torque of 400N·m, accelerating from 0-100km/h in 6.6/6.65 seconds, also paired with a 9AT transmission. Its combined fuel consumption under the WLTC test cycle has been adjusted from 6.65L/100km to 6.55L/100km, demonstrating even better performance.
