Volkswagen T-Roc R Teaser Images Released: Golf R-Inspired High-Ride Performance SUV with Aggressive Aerokit & 333 HP

Recently, we learned from official sources that Volkswagen has released teaser images and official spy shots of the T-Roc R. Based on the MQB Evo platform, this model serves as the ultimate performance variant of the T-Roc. It inherits the essence of the Golf R while maintaining daily practicality. Powered by a 2.0T turbocharged engine, the vehicle delivers a maximum power of 333 horsepower. The official debut of the T-Roc R is expected to take place in the coming months, with its official launch following shortly in the second half of 2026. Additionally, reports suggest that the new Tiguan R will also be arriving soon.

In terms of exterior design, the new model features a more exaggerated aerodynamic kit, distinguishing itself from the R-Line variant. It comes with redesigned front and rear bumpers, and the shape of the front grille has also been revised. At the rear, a larger diffuser design is fitted. Meanwhile, the vehicle is equipped with 20-inch glossy black alloy wheels, paired with blue brake calipers and a set of Akrapovič (AK) exhaust systems with four outlets (two on each side)—clearly showcasing its performance-oriented identity.

Although official interior images have not yet been released, it is expected that the T-Roc R will likely build on the R-Line version and be equipped with more sporty seats, aluminum pedals, R badging, and other sporty elements. For the powertrain, the vehicle is projected to adopt the same 2.0T turbocharged engine as the Golf R, mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a four-wheel drive system. It will generate a maximum power of 245kW (equivalent to 333 horsepower) and a peak torque of 420 N·m.
