Smarter and More Fierce: Static Experience of SAIC Volkswagen's New Lamando L

Mr. TC has experienced every generation of the Lamando model. What left the deepest impression on him is not its low-slung, sporty coupe style, but the sense of space inside the car, especially the horizontal width, which is truly remarkable.

The SAIC Volkswagen Ningbo Factory, a benchmark plant of Industry 4.0, is where the Lamando and Skoda Octavia PRO are born. When visiting the production line of the Ningbo Factory a few years ago, these two German A+ sedans full of driving fun were alternately assembled and rolled off the assembly line in the final assembly workshop. Among them, the Lamando 280TSI Luxury Phantom Edition with a black spoiler and black wheel hubs often appeared.

Three years ago, the "smiling face" Lamando L, based on the Volkswagen MQB-EVO platform, transformed the model's user profile from initially male users aged 80s and 90s to female users. SAIC Volkswagen has always hoped that its products can perform better in the female market. At that time, Mr. TC thought that the Lamando L and the previous Lamando were completely two different cars.

From Lamando to Lamando L, from a sedan to a coupe, the evolution of Lamando L's product positioning needs to have several iconic styling features, such as the sloping roofline, hatchback tailgate, spoiler, sporty bucket seats, and the standard four frameless doors across the entire range.
Smarter and More Aggressive: Static Experience of SAIC Volkswagen's New Lamando L The new Lamando L, which made its debut at the end of July 2025, features not only enhanced sportiness through revised exterior lines and detailed changes, as well as a refreshed interior cabin, but also an upgraded powertrain. The new Lamando L has dimensions of 4791mm in length, 1831mm in width and 1469mm in height. The length has increased by 7mm, while other dimensions remain unchanged, and the wheelbase of 2731mm is the same as that of the current model.
The upper lines of the tail are the same as those of the current model, but the pulse-style streaming LED taillights, combined with the new rear bumper design, enhance the overall sense of the rear end, making it more compact and powerful. It is worth mentioning that the new Lamando L is equipped with the IQ.Light rhythmic light group that supports personalized settings, allowing users to choose multiple modes and separately set the animations of the taillights and turn signals.
The GTS version of the new Lamando L presents an even more aggressive stance. Its exterior is equipped with an exclusive cool black sport kit, including 19-inch sporty smoked alloy wheels, a smoked front grille, smoked exterior mirror covers, smoked door handle trims, smoked rear badges, and smoked rear bumper trims, which enhances both the sportiness and a sense of dominance.
