Toyota GR YARIS Launches! Equipped with a 1.6T Three-Cylinder Engine!

On August 30th, we learned from official sources that the Toyota GR YARIS has been officially launched for sale in the Chinese market, with a starting price of RMB 399,800. The vehicle is scheduled to begin deliveries within this year. In terms of power, the GR YARIS is equipped with a 1.6T three-cylinder engine. The transmission system is matched with a GR-DAT 8AT gearbox and a 6-speed manual gearbox, and it comes with a sporty all-wheel drive system.

It is reported that the GR YARIS launched this time offers a vertical handbrake as an optional configuration. In addition, more different types of rigid bolts are used for the connecting bolts of chassis components, thereby making the steering feedback more responsive and straight-line driving more stable. Furthermore, the GR YARIS has also undergone tuning and optimization for its shock absorption system and EPS (Electric Power Steering) system.

Previously, the new GR YARIS had already made its debut in China. There were no significant adjustments to its exterior, but comprehensive optimizations were made to the vehicle's mechanical quality and performance. In terms of details, the front face is equipped with a larger-sized air intake grille, and the aerodynamic designs of the fog light area and wheel arches have also been upgraded—these improvements help the vehicle's new internal cooling system achieve better heat dissipation, which includes not only the intercooler but also an additionally added automatic transmission radiator. Regarding the vehicle's dimensions, the length, width, and height of the new car are 3995mm, 1805mm, and 1455mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2560mm.

The interior is equipped with a larger-sized central control screen, which is tilted 15 degrees toward the driver's side, keeping the operating distance within 720 millimeters. This design ensures that drivers can still operate the screen conveniently even when wearing 4-point or 6-point seatbelts during races. In addition, the driving posture has been improved by lowering the driver's hip point by 25mm while adjusting the steering wheel position. Furthermore, the interior rearview mirror has been moved upward and the height of the upper edge of the center console has been reduced by 50mm, further expanding the front field of vision. The start button and hazard warning light button are arranged on the left side of the screen, and a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster is installed in front of the steering wheel.
