Recently, we obtained a set of test spy shots of a brand-new SUV model from Rolls-Royce via relevant channels. The new vehicle was captured during extreme cold weather testing in the Scandinavian Peninsula, and its exterior styling has undergone significant changes compared with the existing SUV models under the Rolls-Royce brand. According to the description of the spy photographers, this vehicle may be equipped with a pure electric powertrain. Based on the currently limited information, it cannot be fully confirmed whether this vehicle is an all-new pure electric SUV or an all-electric version of the new-generation Cullinan.
Earlier reports indicated that Rolls-Royce plans to launch two all-new pure electric models in the future, positioned as a sedan and an SUV respectively. It is expected that this pure electric SUV will be slightly smaller in overall dimensions than the Cullinan, but still fall into the large-size SUV category, with a projected launch in early 2027. The pure electric sedan is scheduled to hit the market at the end of 2028; it will replace the Phantom to become the new flagship model of the brand.
Let’s first take a look at the exterior. The overall shape of the new vehicle is quite different from the current Cullinan. It adopts a split-type headlight setup at the front, and the grille appears to be wider. Meanwhile, an air intake is fitted at the lower part of the front bumper, with a styling similar to that on the Spectre. The familiar boxy design language is carried over to the rear end. The taillights are vertically arranged on both sides, a small spoiler extends from the roof, and a high-mounted brake light is also equipped. In addition, the position of the license plate frame has been moved down to the rear bumper.
Indeed, no exhaust system is found at the rear of the vehicle, and there is a fuel/charging port on the right rear fender – however, compared with the current Cullinan, its position is lower.
In terms of power performance, if it is truly a pure electric model, reference can be made to the powertrain of the Spectre. The Spectre is equipped with dual electric motors, delivering a maximum power of 585 horsepower and a peak torque of 900 N·m. It boasts a CLTC pure electric range of 585 kilometers and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
