In the highly competitive large-size SUV market, VOYAH, the premium new energy brand under Dongfeng Motor Group, is accelerating its product layout to seize more market share. Recently, we obtained a set of high-definition interior spy shots of the brand’s all-new model, the VOYAH Taishan X8, from reliable industry sources. This model has already completed its declaration with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), officially confirming its positioning as an all-new large 5-seat SUV that focuses on luxury, intelligence, and performance. As a key new product of VOYAH, the Taishan X8 has attracted widespread attention from the market and consumers since its first appearance in the declaration information, and the exposure of its interior spy shots has further lifted the veil of this highly anticipated model.
One of the biggest highlights of the VOYAH Taishan X8 is its leading intelligent configuration. The model is equipped with four LiDARs, the same as the popular AITO M9, which are expected to be arranged around the body to achieve 360-degree all-round environmental perception, laying a solid foundation for advanced intelligent driving assistance functions. In addition, the Taishan X8 will take the lead in equipping Huawei’s new-generation interactive cockpit, which is expected to bring a more smooth, intelligent, and humanized man-machine interaction experience compared with the previous generation. With the in-depth cooperation between VOYAH and Huawei in the field of intelligent technology, this new cockpit is likely to integrate Huawei’s latest intelligent voice system, multi-screen linkage technology, and rich application ecology, fully meeting the needs of modern consumers for intelligent travel.
Let’s focus on the interior details first. From the exposed spy shots, the overall interior layout of the VOYAH Taishan X8 is basically consistent with the existing Taishan model, maintaining the brand’s consistent luxury design style, while adding some new design elements to enhance the sense of fashion and technology. The center console adopts a simple and atmospheric design, equipped with a separate instrument screen and a central control screen, forming a dual-screen linkage design that is both practical and aesthetic. According to industry insiders, the size of these two screens is expected to be the same as that of the current Taishan model, which are 10.25 inches for the instrument screen and 16.1 inches for the central control screen. The instrument screen will focus on displaying key driving information such as vehicle speed, power, and driving mode, while the central control screen will integrate functions such as multimedia entertainment, navigation, and vehicle setting, realizing one-stop operation.
Below the central control screen, the VOYAH Taishan X8 is equipped with a row of physical buttons, which are mainly used to control commonly used functions such as air conditioning and audio, ensuring that the driver can operate without taking their eyes off the road, improving driving safety. Next to the physical buttons is a wireless charging panel, which supports fast wireless charging for mobile phones, meeting the daily charging needs of consumers. In addition, the model is equipped with a wide central armrest, which not only provides a comfortable resting position for the driver and front-seat passenger but also has a large storage space inside, which can accommodate small items such as mobile phones, wallets, and water cups. What’s more, the central armrest is also equipped with a built-in refrigerator, which can keep drinks cool in summer and warm in winter, further enhancing the comfort and luxury of the vehicle.
It is worth noting that the door panels of the test vehicle in the spy shots are still covered with camouflage stickers, which means that the final design of the door panels may have some changes compared with the current Taishan model. According to relevant predictions, the door panels of the Taishan X8 may adopt a more dynamic and sporty design style, such as adding carbon fiber decorative panels or bright chrome trim, to attract younger consumer groups. In addition, the seat design of the vehicle is also expected to be optimized, using high-quality leather materials, with better wrapping and support, providing a more comfortable riding experience for passengers even on long-distance trips.
In terms of appearance, the VOYAH Taishan X8 basically inherits the main design style of the existing Taishan model, with a grand and majestic overall shape, which is in line with the positioning of a large-size SUV. The front face adopts a closed grille design, which is a typical design element of new energy vehicles, not only improving the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle but also enhancing the sense of technology. The interior of the grille is decorated with vertical waterfall-style chrome elements, which are arranged neatly and have a strong sense of hierarchy, making the front face of the vehicle highly recognizable. On both sides of the grille are sharp LED headlight groups, which are integrated with the grille to form a unified whole, further stretching the horizontal visual effect of the front face.
