Recently, Lei Jun shared real images of the Xiaomi YU7 on social media. From a photo taken with the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the YU7 features a dynamic sports coupe SUV design with a relatively low body height to reduce its drag coefficient. Additionally, due to its lower center of gravity, it is expected to offer excellent handling performance. It is reported that the YU7 will be officially launched in June or July 2025 with a maximum range of 770km.
In terms of appearance, the Xiaomi YU7 shares the same streamlined and dynamic front design as the Xiaomi SU7, with a low front hood that is slightly raised on both sides, coupled with a dynamic air duct design in the front bumper, giving the car excellent aerodynamic design. The front headlight cluster does not completely replicate the design of the SU7. Instead, it features a new cross-shaped daytime running light, with an air intake duct on the upper part and the headlight cluster on the lower part. There are also air outlet guide slots for the air intake duct on the car's front hood. The roof is equipped with LiDAR and a panoramic sunroof.
On the side of the car, the Xiaomi YU7 has dimensions of 4999/1996/1608(1600)mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 3000mm, making it a mid-to-large size SUV. Lei Jun, who is 1.81 meters tall, is still taller than the YU7 even without standing completely upright. This indicates that the YU7 is more akin to a crossover model, emphasizing energy efficiency and sports performance rather than primarily focusing on space. The car is also equipped with new-style door handles that have a completely different opening mechanism from the SU7. Additionally, the new car features large-size low-drag wheel rims with a petal-like design. The vehicle's fenders are also designed with air guide slots.
The rear window of the vehicle tapers inward, while the tail lights have a muscular appearance. The car is equipped with upper and lower dual spoilers, showcasing a sporty vibe. The rear bumper is also designed with air guide slots and complex aerodynamic features, all aimed at increasing the vehicle's range. The U-shaped tail lights are more stretched out, enhancing its appearance compared to the SU7. The rear windshield is also equipped with concealed windshield wipers.
Judging from previous interior spy shots, the steering wheel of the new car is very thick. Unlike the SU7, the steering wheel of the YU7 incorporates suede and carbon fiber trim, significantly enhancing its sporty feel. The buttons on the steering wheel have also been optimized, primarily featuring scroll wheels for a cleaner look. The steering wheel also retains the buttons on both sides for switching between assisted driving modes and regular driving modes.
The front dashboard has been eliminated and replaced with a head-up display on the front windshield, which appears to be very sleek and has excellent display effects, capable of showing information such as range, speed, multimedia, and navigation. At the same time, it seems that the size of the central control screen has been reduced to avoid blocking the view of the head-up display.
In terms of power, the new car is driven by pure electricity, with a range of 770km, 760km, and 675km. The curb weight exceeds 2.4 tons, and the drive battery capacity is 96.3kWh. The YU7 has single/dual motor options. The dual-motor four-wheel drive version has front and rear motors with maximum power of 220/288kW, respectively, a combined power of 508kW (691 horsepower), a top speed of 253km/h, and is equipped with a ternary lithium battery. The low-power four-wheel drive version with front and rear dual motors has front and rear motors with maximum power of 130/235kW respectively, and a combined power of 365kW. The single-motor rear-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 235kW and a top speed of 240km/h and is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery.
