Recently, GAC AION officially announced that its AION UT Super has launched pre-sales and will make its official debut during the Double 11 shopping period. The most prominent feature of this model is its support for battery swapping functionality.
Based on the existing AION UT, the new vehicle shows little difference in exterior details, except for the addition of exclusive decals on the body. It adopts a closed front grille design with a sleek and rounded style; the headlight clusters are smoked, with built-in lenses that create a sharp visual effect. The lower bumper follows a three-section layout: matrix fog lights are installed at the positions of the side fenders, while a polygonal air intake is placed in the middle, decorated with slanted patterns inside. This design not only adds a sense of layering to the front face but also injects a touch of sportiness.
On the side of the body, the roof has a slight curve with smooth lines, and a floating roof effect—currently a popular design element—is created. The waistline runs through the entire side, enhancing the sense of layering; the door handles are recessed to reduce wind resistance; and the three-spoke wheels exude a unique personality.
At the rear, the roof is equipped with a small-sized spoiler and a high-mount brake light. The smoked taillights are arranged vertically, with dot-matrix light sources inside that offer high recognition when illuminated. The lower bumper features a thick black protective panel, and flat fog lights are integrated on both sides.
In terms of dimensions, the existing AION UT has a length, width, and height of 4270/1850/1575mm, with a wheelbase of 2750mm. The new model is not expected to see significant changes in size.
The interior also remains largely unchanged, coming with a two-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, a floating full LCD instrument cluster, a floating central control screen, and an electronic column shifter. The center console also has a well-defined sense of layering. In terms of configurations, the new vehicle is equipped with keyless entry, an electric tailgate, a 540° panoramic image system, heated exterior rearview mirrors, and a manual anti-glare interior rearview mirror.
For the powertrain, the new vehicle is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 100kW, paired with a 54kWh battery pack. It achieves a CLTC-rated range of 500km and supports battery swapping, with a single swap taking only 99 seconds. For reference, the existing AION UT offers two range options: 330km and 420km.
