IM Motors has officially announced that its new full-size flagship SUV, the IM LS8, will debut globally in March 2026. As a key model of the brand in the high-end new energy vehicle market, the new vehicle is officially positioned as “The Most Driveable 8-Series Flagship”. With precise, compact steering feel, leading intelligent technologies, and flexible handling, it redefines handling standards for full-size SUVs.
According to official teasers, the IM LS8 will be equipped with an advanced steering system that delivers delicate, tight, and responsive steering feedback. Paired with highly efficient and stable chassis tuning, the vehicle achieves more stable body control and excellent cornering performance, making a large SUV easy and agile to drive. Targeting both family and business scenarios, the new full-size SUV will offer both 5-seater and 6-seater layouts to meet diverse demands for space, comfort, and practicality.
In terms of exterior design, the IM LS8 inherits the brand’s latest family-style design language. The front face features a signature ring-shaped full-width LED light bar, providing outstanding recognition and a futuristic appearance. The side profile boasts smooth and generous lines with a well-balanced proportion, showing a strong and upscale presence. The rear uses a through-type taillight assembly that echoes the front light strip, creating a cohesive, minimalist, and highly memorable look.
The vehicle dimensions are 5085mm in length, 2000mm in width, 1817mm (1807mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 3060mm. The generous wheelbase ensures ample cabin and luggage space, delivering a comfortable and roomy experience for daily commuting, long-distance travel, and multi-passenger journeys.
For intelligent technology, the IM LS8 will be equipped with high-performance LiDAR. Combined with advanced intelligent driving algorithms and a high-computing platform, it enables precise environment perception, intelligent collision avoidance, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and high-level city NOA navigation-assisted driving, greatly enhancing driving safety, convenience, and technological experience.
In terms of powertrain, the IM LS8 adopts an extended-range electric (EREV) solution. It is equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine (model 15FNE) produced by SAIC Motor as the range extender, and a drive motor with a peak power of 230kW. The power output is smooth, strong, and linear without hesitation, while ensuring quietness and efficiency. The battery pack uses LFP batteries supplied by SAIC Times, with capacities of 52.1kWh and 65.9kWh, providing pure electric range versions of 268km, 279km, and 335km to cover daily commuting and long-distance travel without anxiety.
With exceptional handling, flexible spacious layouts, advanced intelligent driving, and reliable extended-range power, the IM LS8 is set to launch officially in March. It is expected to become a benchmark model in the full-size new energy SUV market that combines driving pleasure, family practicality, and premium quality.
