Recently, we learned from AION's official channel that its all-new compact SUV - the AION i60, is set to make its official launch on November 16th. The new model adopts a five-seat layout and offers two powertrain options: extended-range electric and pure electric. Pre-sales for the vehicle kicked off on November 3rd, with the extended-range version starting at 126,800 yuan and the pure electric version at 119,800 yuan.
Exterior Design
In terms of exterior, the new model features a brand-new front face design. Its deep-set front headlights are equipped with dual LED light sources, and the central daytime running light adopts a full-width (through-type) design. The vertical air deflectors on both sides enhance the visual appeal of the front face, and these areas also house hidden small blue lights for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Additionally, the front of the vehicle is fitted with an external projector.
The side profile lines of the new AION i60 remain largely consistent with those of the AION V, and the two models share the exact same wheelbase. In terms of dimensions, the new SUV measures 4,685mm in length, 1,854mm in width, and 1,660mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm - making it significantly larger in size than the AION V. The side mirrors are equipped with ADAS small blue lights, and customers can choose between 18-inch and 19-inch wheel rims.
At the rear, the new model boasts a double-layer full-width through-type taillight design, with a self-illuminating brand logo in the center. The taillights also integrate hidden ADAS small blue lights. The rear doors of the new vehicle can open to nearly 90 degrees, facilitating easier entry and exit, and an electric tailgate comes as standard. For exterior paint options, the new AION i60 offers six colors: Warm Velvet Gold, Galaxy Blue, Polar White, Glowing Sea Gray, Night Shadow Black, and Holographic Silver.
Interior & Technology
Moving to the interior, the new model follows the same minimalist design style as the AION V, paired with a two-tone color scheme. Three interior color options are available: Oat Milk White, Warm Velvet Light Brown, and Tahiti Gray. A 32-color ambient lighting system creates a cozy, home-like atmosphere inside the cabin.
The new vehicle is equipped with a more streamlined roller-adjustable steering wheel, along with a square floating central control screen and instrument cluster. Below the screens, there are two wireless charging pads for convenient device charging.
In terms of advanced driver assistance, the new AION i60 is fitted with GAC's GSD Intelligent Driving Assistance System, which supports functions such as High-Speed Navigation Driving Assistance (NDA) and Intelligent Parking Assistance (HPA). These features enable the vehicle to automatically handle on-ramp/off-ramp maneuvers and lane changes.
Powertrain & Chassis
For powertrains, the new model provides two options: pure electric and extended-range electric. The extended-range version is powered by a 1.5L engine with a maximum power output of 74kW. It delivers a CLTC pure electric range of 210km, a combined range of 1,240km, and a fuel consumption of 5.5L/100km under low battery conditions. The electric motor of the extended-range version has a maximum power of 180kW, and it can charge from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.
