Test drive experience of the Jetta VA7 1.4T

Five years ago, the Volkswagen brand unveiled a brand-new sub-brand at its headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany. Yes, you guessed it—it's the familiar Jetta. Elevating a car model to the status of a brand underscores its market appeal. Over the past five years, the Jetta brand has launched three products, with sales exceeding 750,000 units. With the introduction of this new model, it is bound to accelerate its journey to one million sales. This is the Jetta VA7, positioned as a compact car.

Many of you are probably very familiar with the FAW-Volkswagen Sagitar, which is known as the Volkswagen Jetta overseas, or simply as "Jetta" as we know it. With the launch of the Jetta VA7, seeing it bearing the Jetta logo makes us wonder, which one is the real deal Jetta? Joking aside, the Jetta VA7 and the Sagitar are strikingly similar.

The Jetta VA7 boasts a body size of 4773×1789×1469mm and a wheelbase of 2731mm, which is a standard size for an A+ segment car. Compared to the Sagitar, the differences are minimal and almost negligible.

The changes in the exterior are mainly reflected in the details such as the front/rear bumpers, badges, and tail emblems. Let's put it this way, its similarity to the Sagitar is over 95%. Actually, this is understandable, given that they both come from FAW-Volkswagen. In the future, being able to purchase a new car that meets higher expectations in one's heart at a more affordable, or even lower, price is certainly not a bad thing for consumers.
